Variance is a 100% acrylic polymer based finish system that has adapted the proven qualities of acrylic textured finishes to limitless color and texture possibilities for interior and exterior applications.

Color may vary slightly from actual product. This is a quide only. These 24 colors are the standards for the Variance^TM Interior Finish System. Special colors may be formulated on request for additional cost. Deeper colors may not be suitable for exterior applications.

Five Standard Textures

Alto Solo - Smooth to slightly textured finish. Unique hand-trowled effect with subtle color variation. Fino Alto is used to create a crack resistant, trouble-free veneer plaster over many substrates with unlimited color possibilities.

Palladian - Smooth, high polish or matte finish. Successive coats of Fino Claro are used to create a finish similar to traditional lime-based Venetian plasters.

Sand - A subtle sand finish or a heavier old world finish can be achieved using Fino Arena. VariStain may be introduced for increased color variation.

Traditional - Smooth, polished or matte finish. A distinctive mottling effect is achieved using Fino Solido or Fino Alto as a base and Fino Claro as the finish coat.

Tuscany - Aged, old-world finish. Fino Alto and VariStain are used to create a unique, rustic finish.

Fino Arena (Sand Finish) Description Fino Arena is a 100% Acrylic Polymer Based, Opaque, crack resistant, sanded, trowel applied plaster finish. Uses Fino Arena may be used for interior applications over properly prepared substrates, including new or existing drywall. May also be applied over cement or gypsum base coats or existing plaster surfaces. Packaging 5.0 Gallon (60 lb) pail 1 Gallon (11 lb) pail. Description Surface Preparation Surface must be clean, dry, sound and free of loose material, releasing agents, efflorescence and other coatings. Remove and repair any loose paint, Mortar, stucco, concrete, Repair all cracks with a patching compound and prime the entire surface prior to application to avoid telegraphing lines appearing through the dried finish. Mixing Thoroughly mix the factory-prepared Fino Arena with a mixer to a homogenous consistency. A small amount of clean, potable water may be added to adjust workability. When adding colorant packages in the field, mix thoroughly, to completely disperse all colorant. Check color against color sample for accurate match. Close container when not in use. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Application Fino Arena may be applied over finished and primed level 4 drywall over VariPrime as a base coat for Tuscany Finish or as a fine Sand Finish. Apply with a stainless steele trowel, for best results Venetian trowels are recommended. Fino Arena may also be used as a leveling coat and base for smooth Variance finishes over existing textured surfaces. When stopping application of Fino Arena without finishing a wall, feather the finish to a minimal thickness in an irregular line to allow for prevention of a cold joint when application is resumed. Drying Time Fino Arena will generally dry within one hour. Surface absorption, temperature and humidity affect drying time.
